Modernising a growing beauty brand without changing the words that built its search visibility.

Not every digital project begins with complete creative freedom.

Sometimes the challenge is defined by the constraints.

When Monaa’s Brazilian Wax approached AETHER, the business had already outgrown its website. The company had continued to evolve, expand its services and strengthen its reputation, while the website remained almost untouched for years.

The existing website had been built using a standard WordPress theme as a single-page website. Although it continued to perform well in search engines, visually it no longer reflected the quality, professionalism or experience clients encountered once they entered the salon.

Replacing the website was straightforward.

Replacing the content wasn’t.

One requirement was absolutely non-negotiable.

The existing copy had to remain exactly as it was.

Years of organic search visibility had been built around that content, meaning rewriting text purely for design purposes could negatively influence existing SEO performance.

The challenge therefore became something entirely different.

How do you create a completely new digital experience when you cannot change the words that define it?

Designing Around Existing Content

Most redesign projects begin with a new content strategy.

This one started with content preservation.

Rather than rewriting headlines or restructuring copy for convenience, every existing paragraph became a fixed design component that needed to fit within a completely new visual system.

Instead of changing the message, we changed how the message is experienced.

Through typography, spacing, hierarchy and layout, the same information became significantly easier to read, navigate and understand.

This approach reflects one of the core ideas behind our Transmission Why Beautiful Websites Still Fail: UX Architecture.

Good user experience doesn’t necessarily require different content.

Often, it simply requires better structure.

Respecting an Established Brand

One of the most important design decisions was knowing what not to change.

The recognisable pink brand colour had already become part of Monaa’s identity and was familiar to returning customers.

Rather than replacing it with an entirely new visual direction, we expanded the existing identity.

Warm cream tones introduced softness.

White created breathing space.

Deep ink black added contrast and elegance.

A lighter pink accent colour introduced subtle depth and movement throughout the interface.

The result is a visual identity that feels noticeably more refined while remaining immediately recognisable to existing customers.

Instead of redesigning the brand, we allowed it to mature.

Creating Confidence Through Simplicity

Beauty and wellness websites often fall into the trap of becoming visually overwhelming.

Large backgrounds, decorative elements and excessive animations compete for attention rather than supporting the visitor.

For Monaa’s Brazilian Wax, we deliberately chose restraint.

Every section was simplified.

Every interaction became clearer.

Every visual decision was made to create a calm, premium experience that reflects the professionalism of the salon itself.

This philosophy closely aligns with the principles explored in our Custom Website approach, where design serves the business instead of competing with it.

Working Within Constraints

Some of the strongest design solutions emerge when creative freedom is limited.

This project is a perfect example.

Rather than replacing the existing content, every design decision had to respect the established SEO foundation while simultaneously creating an experience that felt contemporary, trustworthy and premium.

The challenge wasn’t writing better content.

It was allowing the existing content to perform better.

By carefully restructuring typography, introducing a stronger visual hierarchy and creating clear separation between topics, visitors can now scan the page naturally instead of reading one continuous block of information.

The words remained the same.

The experience changed completely.

This philosophy closely aligns with our Transmission The Psychology Behind High-Converting Websites, where we explore how information hierarchy directly influences understanding, confidence and conversion.

A Contemporary Brand Experience

Visual identity is about far more than choosing attractive colours.

It is about creating consistency.

Every colour, every type size and every spacing decision should reinforce the same perception.

For Monaa’s Brazilian Wax, the recognisable pink remained the foundation of the brand. Around it, we introduced a carefully balanced supporting palette consisting of warm cream, clean white and deep ink black. Together, these colours create a calmer, more luxurious atmosphere while maintaining the recognisable personality existing customers already associate with the business.

Small touches of lighter pink were added throughout the interface to create rhythm and subtly guide visitors through the page without overwhelming the overall composition.

The objective wasn’t to redesign the brand.

It was to let the existing identity mature alongside the business itself.

Performance Without Unnecessary Complexity

The project remained intentionally lightweight.

Instead of introducing unnecessary animations, complex interactions or additional plugins, the focus remained on creating a fast, reliable and maintainable website that serves both visitors and the business.

Modern websites don’t become better because they contain more technology.

They become better because every technical decision supports the experience rather than distracting from it.

This principle is central to the way we approach Custom Websites, where simplicity is often the most sophisticated solution.

Website performance also plays an increasingly important role in both user experience and search visibility. We discuss this relationship further in our Transmission Why Website Speed Matters More Than Ever.

The Outcome

Monaa’s Brazilian Wax now has a website that finally reflects the quality of the business behind it.

The visual identity feels contemporary.

The content is significantly easier to navigate.

The overall experience communicates professionalism, confidence and care from the very first interaction.

Perhaps most importantly, this transformation was achieved without compromising the existing SEO foundation that had been built over many years.

Instead of choosing between search visibility and modern design, the project demonstrates that both can strengthen each other when approached strategically.

What This Project Reinforced

Not every successful redesign begins with a blank canvas.

Sometimes the greatest value comes from understanding what should remain untouched.

This project reinforced an important lesson.

Design isn’t always about changing content.

Sometimes it’s about revealing the value that already exists through better structure, stronger hierarchy and more intentional visual communication.

That balance between preservation and innovation is something we apply across every project, whether we’re redesigning an established business or building an entirely new digital presence.

It is also one of the reasons our SEO & AIO and Digital Marketing services are closely connected to our design process. A successful website shouldn’t force businesses to choose between visibility and user experience—it should strengthen both simultaneously.
